From modest beginnings as a small wholesaler in 1990, Freshways has grown rapidly and today supplies independent retailers and cafes across the UK. In 2001, the business moved to its own purpose built state of the art processing facility, enabling it to control the quality of all its products.
As the Freshways success story continued to grow, so too did the administrative pressures on the dedicated staff.
Initially they worked with YourDMS on a small project to scan delivery notes and that was expanded to include a new document management system to streamline their supplier invoice process.
Approximately 100 supplier invoices per day were gathered around the UK and shipped centrally to London for processing, where they are manually logged and physically filed into an SAP Business 1 application. The company was struggling with fragmented and slow document processes. This included manually entering purchase invoice data into computers and storing other correspondence by hand.
